Lyfsaver, a life-saving information app that works with Quezon City’s emergency hotline, took the stage at a government forum on how the Philippine public sector can put artificial intelligence to work.
It was one of 11 initiatives that demonstrated their platforms at “Beyond DX: AI Transformation Forum for the Philippine Public Sector”, held at Conrad Manila on Thursday, October 22.

“Let’s turn collective action into an infrastructure of trust and life-saving information. That’s what we’re building with Lyfsaver, starting with Quezon City,” said Voltaire Tupaz, Lyfsaver’s co-convenor and executive director.
Lyfsaver currently works with Quezon City’s Hotline 122, which is run by the city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO), but Tupaz wants to take it beyond.
“We hope to invite others to join us in this journey and build this together with other communities,” he said.
Lyfsaver shared the stage with teams behind chatbots, research tools, and automation projects from across government and the private sector.
These include the Anti-Red Tape Authority’s TALA virtual assistant, the Department of Budget and Management’s Agentic AI Solution and JuanaKnow, a chatbot on science, innovation and government services from the Department of Science and Technology’s Advanced Science and Technology Institute.
Startups Hiraia, FrontLearners, Seermo and Twala E-Notary also took part, along with the Development Academy of the Philippines’ (DAP) own TUKLAS, TrendsWatch 2.0 and Project ORACLE.
The October 22 forum was organized by DAP’s Center for Strategic Futures to build a common understanding of how AI can be used responsibly in governance, technology, and daily life.
“Our ambition is a public sector where people have the competence and confidence to use AI well, where leaders can make informed decisions about its adoption, and where improvements are measured by their value to citizens,” DAP Officer-in-Charge and Senior Vice President Imelda Caluen said in her closing remarks.

She urged participants to carry the discussions forward through “sustained partnerships, concrete initiatives, and a shared commitment to better public service”. - fyt.ph
